This page describes how our church website program works. You are welcome to create a website and try it for 30 days. After that, if you continue to use your website, we charge $35.00 per month, payable in advance each month. You may pay for multiple months if you find that more convenient, but that is up to you. We also encourage you to regularly exercise some "Website Activity Suggestions". These are intended to ensure that you receive maximum benefit from your website investment. This section describes ways in which you can make the most of your website.
Website Activity Suggestions
Most websites will not be visited often or provide useful, timely information to site visitors unless they are regularly updated with have new accurate information. The need or desire to see what new information you have to share is what keeps people coming back. And active websites are a key to ensuring that neither you, nor we at Your Church Site are wasting limited resources. So we ask you to make a real and ongoing effort to keep your website active and interesting by putting this effort into it.
- Enter the families and individual members of your church into the 'Households' and 'Persons' administration areas. This is your Family Directory. This will allow your members to log into your website to see information that is available to them, but not to the general public. It also allows us to send them occasional helpful emails about the features of your website. You must also regularly enter changes to this information. It is provided for the benefit of your members. If what they find here is not accurate, they will not return.
- Maintain the Announcements with accurate information about activities at your church. You have 3 areas where different types announcements can be entered; for example, General, Church, and Community. Use each area to keep your visitors informed of what you offer and how you meet their needs.
- Upload documents about special events or activities. We provide separate areas for you to upload General Documents, Calendars, Newsletters, Sermons, Servicing Schedules. Use any or all of these to supplement the normal website pages with PDF or MP3 files which you create.
- Respond very promptly when your church members request "Members Only" access to your website. It is your responsibility to ensure that only your members have access to you membership directory, prayer requests, or other pages that you determine are not appropriate for public viewing. If you do not respond promptly to your members request to see this information, they will quickly lose interest in using your website. We provide details on how the respond to these requests in our 'Help' pages.
- Change your web pages occasionally. People come back to visit more frequently if the find that there is new and useful or interesting information. It will be worth the time and effort to create new pages or modify existing ones on a regular basis.
